IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – In a thrilling showdown on the collegiate basketball court, Caitlin Clark emerged as the undeniable hero for the No. 4-ranked Iowa team.

In a stunning display of skill and composure, Clark sealed the victory with a remarkable long-range 3-pointer at the buzzer, propelling Iowa to a triumphant 76-73 win over Michigan State.

Once again, Clark showcased her prowess with a sensational long-range 3-pointer at the final buzzer, securing an impressive 40-point performance and propelling the No. 4 Hawkeyes to a thrilling 76-73 victory over Michigan State on Tuesday night.

“Honestly, when it left my hand, I knew it was going in,”

Clark said.

Behind the stellar contributions of Clark and Stuelke, the Hawkeyes (14-1, 3-0 Big Ten) stretched their winning streak to 11 games, with Stuelke adding 15 points to the team’s impressive performance.

“I think it almost kind of worked out in my favor, because my girl (Michigan State’s Moira Joiner) almost went for the steal a little bit,” Clark said. “I was able to get to my step-back to the left, which is my favorite shot.”

Coach Robyn Fralick of Michigan State commended her team, stating that the Spartans executed strong defensive efforts in the final play.

Fralick further appreciated Clark shot.

“She made a really hard shot,” Fralick said.

Iowa Hawkeyes Head Coach Lisa Marie Bluder expressed that the second quarter was the worst she had ever seen.

“That second quarter was one of the worst ones I’ve seen of Iowa basketball,” Bluder said. “I was kind of frustrated we quit running our offense in the second quarter, and that allowed them to get back in the game.”
