Connor Williams Aims for 2024 Comeback Post-Knee Surgery, Negotiating with Multiple Teams

Adam Schefter reported Connor Williams, the former center for the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, is on track to make a comeback following a season-ending knee surgery. Williams, now a free agent, has announced that he expects to be fully ready for the start of the 2024 NFL season.

Adam Schefter posted on X “Former Cowboys and Dolphins free-agent center Connor Williams, who is coming off season-ending knee surgery, expects to be ready for the start of the season and is in discussions with multiple teams about where to play in 2024. He plans to pick his new team before training camp begins.

Williams is engaged in discussions with several teams as he decides where to continue his professional football career. He plans to make his decision and sign with a new team before the start of training camp.

Williams’ return to the field will be highly anticipated, given his recovery from the significant knee injury. Teams interested in bolstering their offensive line will be keeping a close eye on his progress and final decision in the coming weeks.

Connor Williams Injuries

In Week 3 against the Broncos, Williams suffered a groin injury when he was with the Miami Dolphins. He was marked inactive for the game against the Buffalo Bills, with Liam Eichenberg named as the starter instead.

In Week 14 against the Titans, he suffered a season-ending ACL tear and was placed on injured reserve on December 13, 2023. Following that, he was sidelined for months until recently when Adam Schefter shared news of his comeback on June 18.

Connor Williams NFL Draft

Connor Williams began his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, where he played from 2018 to 2021. He was selected in the 2018 NFL Draft as a second-round pick, 50th overall. After his time with the Cowboys, Williams joined the Miami Dolphins and played for them from 2022 to 2023.

In terms of his NFL experience, he has played in 83 games and started in 77 of them. He is an exciting player to watch in the upcoming NFL season.
