Former Las Vegas Raiders, 2013 first round pick CB DJ Hayden was killed in a car crash early this morning in Houston, along with 5 others. 2 are in life threatening condition.

According online source, Former NFL cornerback DJ Hayden, among six people killed in an automobile accident, was 33 years old. The Houston Police Department stated that Hayden was among the fatalities after a tragic car collision Saturday morning.

Authorities received a call around 2 a.m. reporting a traffic accident involving two vehicles, a Chrysler 300 and an Acura SUV. The Chrysler was at fault, running a red light at high speed. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, while four others were taken to a local hospital. Two of them succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Among the victims were five males, one of whom the police have indicated may have been homeless, along with one female. The authorities are actively investigating to ascertain the precise circumstances of the accident, including identifying the driver of the SUV involved.

Who is DJ Hayden?

DJ Hayden was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. After his tenure with the Raiders spanning four seasons, he moved on to the Detroit Lions in 2017. Subsequently, he had a three-year spell with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2018 to 2020. Hayden’s last NFL season in 2021 saw him play a single game with the Washington Commanders. Across his career, he contributed to 92 games, amassing 328 combined tackles, 46 pass breakups, and securing four interceptions.
