Chiefsaholic Pleads Guilty to Bank Robbery and Money Laundering

NFL Super Fan “Chiefsaholic” Pleads Guilty to Bank Robbery and Money Laundering

Xaviar Michael Babudar, widely known as Chiefsaholic, has admitted guilt in a federal court hearing on Wednesday, confessing to his involvement in a series of bank robberies.

The notorious Kansas City Chiefs superfan’s plea marks a significant turn in the investigation into the string of heists that had baffled authorities for months.

Babudar’s acknowledgement of responsibility brings some closure to the communities affected by these crimes, while also highlighting the unexpected nature of criminal behavior.

NFLRumors shared the news on their official X handle.

He stands accused of committing or attempting to rob 11 banks across seven different states, followed by laundering the proceeds through casinos and online gambling platforms.

According to court documents, he allegedly utilized the illicit funds to finance Chiefs tickets, travel expenses, and wagers on games. Remarkably, during this period, a federal indictment revealed that Babudar failed to report any income earned in either Missouri or Kansas.

While on bail last year, prosecutors claim he received a $100,000 check before absconding by severing his ankle monitor.

Prosecutors further assert that he confessed to two bank robberies while on the lam. Following his escape, he was apprehended in northern California several months later and has remained in federal custody since.

As part of his plea agreement, Babudar is required to pay a minimum of $532,675 in restitution to the financial institutions he victimized. Additionally, he must forfeit any assets involved in the crimes to the government, which includes notable items such as an autographed painting of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
