Famous Singer and Songwriter Luke Combs Criticizes Panthers Draft Decisions

Country music sensation Luke Combs took to X (Twitter) to express his disappointment with the Carolina Panthers’ recent draft decisions. The singer-songwriter lamented the lack of first-round picks for star players Christian McCaffrey a few years back and now Panthers traded star linebackers Brian Burns to the New York Giants.

“Panthers WHAT ARE WE DOING?!?!? No first-round pick for McCaffrey a few years back and now none for Burns?!?! Are we just fire bombing the whole team here or what? I usually don’t comment on these kinds of things but it’s just becoming slow torture at this point,”

Combs wrote on his X account (formally Twitter).

The Panthers traded Brian Burns to the New York Giants in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick (No. 39) and a 2025 fifth-round pick. Additionally, as part of the deal, Carolina will swap fifth-round picks with the Giants in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

Luke Combs also criticized the previous trade made in 2022, Carolina sent star running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers in that year. The Panthers received multiple draft picks in return, including a 2023 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick, 2023 fourth-round pick, and a 2024 fifth-round pick. McCaffrey excelled with the 49ers, achieving a career-high of 1,459 rushing yards during the 2023-24 season, contributing to the team’s journey to Super Bowl LVIII.
